Glentworth has ranked as one of BRW’s ‘Fast Starters’ for 2012, coming in among some of the most innovative, new Australian businesses.

The award, which is open to the most profitable and fastest growing businesses in Australia, whilst increasing revenue from 2010 to 2011.

Mr Glentworth said he was thrilled to be recognised for the achievements of the company, ranked among the most successful Australian businesses for 2012.

“It’s estimated over half of small Australian businesses fail within the first three years, so my team and I are so proud to be recognised as a 2012 BRW Fast Starter, six years after the company was launched ,” Mr Glentworth said.

“The global financial crisis has caused so much instability – managing to succeed and to be acknowledged for our hard work, really is an extraordinary achievement.

“It is also rewarding for us as information management is a relatively new industry in Australia, and so far we have helped organisations including Rio Tinto, Santos, Arrow Energy, RSL, Queensland Government Chief Information Office and the Department of Education and Training streamline their internal communications and information management processes, resulting in more efficient staff management and information flow.

“Information management also had a big role to play during the 2011 Queensland floods, where we supported the state during a time of crisis to ensure information was in the right place at the right time.”

Establishing his business in 2006, managing director Neil Glentworth said the concept was born after he identified the need for information management as a professional service.

“We have essentially re-segmented the market, providing businesses in the private, public and non-for-profit sectors a new professional service to allow them to harness their knowledge and run their operations more competitively,” Mr Glentworth said.

“With an estimated two-thirds of an average company’s value stored in knowledge capital, we recognise regardless of a company’s business plan, it is vital they understand the value of information as a resource that binds and moves a business forward.

“In short, we take a room of files and reports, and give organisations the capacity to manage this knowledge and compete in a modern marketplace.”

Prior to launching Glentworth, Neil Glentworth specialised as a consultant for public sector information management and  trained for over a decade at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst,  which equipped him with the leadership skills necessary to drive his entrepreneurial  passions into a career focussed on solving complex client problems.

The 2012 BRW Fast Starters issue will be on sale Thursday April 26.
